C4C Junior Handler Program
Mission Statement
The Canines for Christ Junior Handler Program seeks to equip and encourage youth to effectively share the Gospel of Jesus Christ in their communities through volunteer and community outreach while engaging with likeminded individuals within the Canines for Christ family.
Equipping Youth
- Encourage daily Bible reading and Scripture memorization
- Teach youth how to share the Gospel with their friends and community
- Provide encouragement through mentorship from Canines for Christ Junior Handler Director & Volunteers
- Engage in conversation with other Canines for Christ youth to promote engagement in the program
- Promote and encourage prayer among members for each other and their community
Encouraging Youth
- Youth receive their own Junior Handler cards, t-shirt and/or polo
- Ability to earn certificates to encourage engagement in the program
- Certificates can be earned for the following categories: Outreach, Community, Scripture and Serving
Engaging Youth
- Monthly newsletter highlighting a Junior Handler and their involvement in the Canines for Christ Junior Handler Program
- Receive opportunities to learn new ways to engage with the people they are interacting with in conversation
- Learn how to train their dogs to do tricks as a way to interact with the individuals they are serving
- Earn trick titles with their dogs from a Certified Trick Dog Instructor and AKC Evaluator – trick dog patches/pins may be worn on their Canines for Christ t-shirt or polo
