Crisis Response Program

Purpose
The purpose of the Canines for Christ Crisis Response is to deploy members who will bring a ministry of presence, prayers and appropriately share God’s love, comfort, and hope to those who have been affected by man-made or natural disasters. Our dogs are used as the vessel to open the door to share this message. 

How to Get Involved:

1. A Crisis Response (CR) Volunteer must be a current C4C Member.
2. Crisis Response Opportunity Level #1 (CRO #1), the volunteer must first download and read the attached C4C Crisis Response Guidelines and latest Volunteer Manual. Then completely review the C4C self-paced CR training (found below); download the photo release form and the volunteer must attest that they have completed the required training by going to the bottom of this page and sending the attached email.
3. Crisis Response Opportunities Levels #2 & #3  (CRO #2 & CRO #3) requires that you are a Chaplain with C4C or individual volunteers must petition the Crisis Response Program Director to review an individual’s specific response training and experience.
4. The attached training can also be arranged as a Zoom training with Chaplain Fred Wetzel for Local Chapter members or groups of individual volunteers with C4C.
5. Your dog must have a minimum of 25 community visits for CRO #1 and 50 visits for CRO #2 & CRO #3.  If you and your dog do not meet these requirements, please contact Chaplain Fred Wetzel.
